Kat has moved across the Pacific Ocean a few times with small children and understands the challenges of relocation.  She lived in Long Island, NY, Miami, Florida, and Tokyo, Japan prior to settling in the Portland area in 1995.  She graduated from Portland State University magna cum laude and is fully bilingual in Japanese and English.   She enjoys diversity and finds volunteering for a literacy program a rewarding experience.
